Gary W. Freeberg MD, FCCP
Gary W. Freeberg MD, FCCP joined Nassau Chest Physicians, PC in 1992. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester, and received a BA degree in Chemistry in 1982. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center, College of Medicine in 1986.
After graduation from medical school, he entered residency training in Internal Medicine at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. The three-year training program also involved training at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Freeberg completed this residency in 1989, followed by a two-year fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center which he completed in 1991. He then returned to North Shore University Hospital and completed an additional year of training in Critical Care Medicine in 1992.
Dr. Freeberg is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.
Dr. Freeberg is on the professional staffs of St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn NY, North Shore University Hospital (Manhasset and Plainview, NY), and St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage NY.
Dr. Freeberg holds the following positions: Clinical Assistant Professor/ Department of Medicine at the School of Medicine, Hofstra University and also Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
