Joan Mogil, MS, RN, PT, ANP-C
Joan Mogil, MS, RN, PT, ANP-C joined Nassau Chest Physicians, P.C. as the first non-physician practitioner in October of 1997. She came to the practice after a long career in Pulmonary Nursing and practices in our Massapequa, NY location.
She graduated from Hunter College – Bellevue School of Nursing and earned a BS Degree in Nursing. She completed Graduate Studies at Columbia University and received a Masters Degree in Nursing from SUNY at Stony Brook with licensure and certification in both Adult and Family Nurse Practitioner Programs. She has certification as a Nurse Practitioner from The American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Past Clinical experience includes 7 years as Pulmonary Nurse Clinician at Queens Hospital Center and 10 years in the Pulmonary Medicine Department at Long Island Jewish Medical Center involved with patient education, pulmonary rehabilitation support groups, and assistant with bronchoscopy procedures.
During her years at Nassau Chest Physicians, PC Joan has specialized in asthma, COPD, and coordination of services for other chronic lung disorders. She works very closely with a large group of severe asthmatics receiving a highly specialized medication therapy called Xolair. These patients require close hands-on care and monitoring which is exactly what Joan provides.
Jaclyn Thoresz, RN, ANP-C is an Adult Nurse Practitioner who joined Nassau Chest Physicians, P.C. in 2005. She graduated cum laude with her registered nursing (R.N.) degree from SUNY / Plattsburgh in 2000. She worked at St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY as an R.N. while working on her master’s degree at SUNY Stony Brook toward obtaining certification as a Nurse Practitioner. She is primarily based at St Francis Hospital in Roslyn, NY attending to patients of Nassau Chest Physicians PC. She also sees patients of at St. Joseph Hospital in Bethpage, NY and sees patients at the Massapequa location of Nassau Chest Physicians.
Jaclyn has been an adjunct professor in the graduate nursing program at Molloy College since 2006. She has been at speaker at medical conferences catering to the education of nurse practitioners in pulmonary medicine.
